Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences Bellary was established in the year 1961. The Institute is a Co-ed and is approved by NMC and is an affiliated college. The Institute offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes to students who want to pursue courses in the fields of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Dialysis Technology, Physiology, Anatomy, and others. Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences Bellary, courses include Diploma., M.B.B.S., P.G.D., MD., M.S., and M.Ch.

Admission into these courses is given based on the common entrance exam (NEET) conducted by NTA. Where NEET scores are considered for the M.B.B.S. programme, NEET-PG scores are considered for Diploma., M.D and M.S courses while NEET-SS score is taken into consideration for M.Ch course. Aspirants are advised to acquire valid scores in their respective NEET/NEET-PG/NEET-SS exams.
