Melmaruvathur Adhiparasakthi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research was established on 2008. The Hospital attached to the College is being run from the year 1986, providing health care services to the surrounding villages for more than 30 years. People belonging to the poor socio economic group of the nearby 750 villages including agricultural labourers are getting various health care services from our Hospital.

The Institute is situated in Melmaruvathur near National Highway (NH-45), about 92 km from Chennai and about 70 km before Pondicherry. Since the Hospital is located in the middle, between Chennai and Pondicherry, various nearby towns are benefitted from our Institute. The Institute is managed by Adhiparasakthi Charitabale Medical, Educational and Cultural Trust, Melmaruvathur,Kanchipuram, Tamilnadu, India.

 Admission Process

Candidates seeking admission to the I year MBBS degree course shall satisfy the following requirements.

A) A pass in HSC Examination (Academic of the 10 +2 curriculum of the Government of Tamilnadu with the subjects

(i) Physics, Chemistry and Biology or

(ii) Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology (or) A pass in an examination of any University or authority accepted as equivalent to the above qualification by appropriate authority.

B) Number of attempts to pass the qualifying examination and improvements for all the courses coming under medicine will be adopted as per the latest Government Orders in force.

C) Age limit: Candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on December 31st of the year of admission. Age shall be determined based only on the date of birth as given in SSLC / HSC or an equivalent examination certificate.

D) In addition to the requirements mentioned above the qualifying criteria as prescribed by the Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University and / or the Government of Tamilnadu from time to time shall be followed.

E) Eligibility in NEET examination conducted by the Government.

For the convenience of students and faculty staying off-campus, Medical college and Research hospital has a fleet of buses that ferry them to and fro. The buses traverse the city and suburbs and routes are planned to provide maximum convenience to students and staff. Additionally, the college is also well connected to the bus services and a major metro station that is located few kms away from the campus is under commission.Qualified and experienced security personnels are employed by the Management for the safety and security of all the institutions, Hospitals and Hostels. The most of these personnels are Ex-Servicemen.
