About Us

ACS Medical College and Hospital was started in the year 2007 under the ambit of Dr.MGR Educational and Research Institute. Founder-Chancellor of our Deemed to be University is Dr.A.C.Shanmugam.

ACS Medical College and Hospital offers medical services to majority of urban and rural people. The hospital have state of art facilities to manage wide range of medical and surgical conditions and well equipped laboratories round the clock. Our Hospital provides various state and central government schemes and evening special clinics to provide health care for the people. The institute is involved in community health services [Rural health training centre and urban health training centre] and provides services for needy people.

Our college has well equipped laboratories, skill labs, museum, library, spacious classrooms and auditoriums and transport facilities.Students, apart from academic activities are given opportunities for cultural and sports activities. All religious festivals are celebrated with innovative programs by both faculties and students. Our institute functions to provide medical education to students with opportunities for applied research in order to mould our students as experts in medical profession.

Admission Process

A.C.S Medical College and Hospital is a private medical college based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It is affiliated to the Dr. M.G.R Educational and Research Institute, which is deemed to be a University. ACS Medical College offers MBBS Program along with one year of compulsory rotating Resident Internship. Candidates have to complete 17 years of age on or before July 1st of the academic year to be eligible for MBBS Program.Candidates need to apply to the official website of the NEET to appear for the entrance examination and become eligible for admission.Candidates have to complete 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology along with English.Candidates who have studied English course at 10+2 but not according to the prescribed structure of the National Committee, have to undergo one year of a pre-professional training before admission to the Medical College.Candidates who have passed HSC examination from any other Indian University or recognised board with PCB and English are also eligible to apply for the course.Candidates who have taken a pre-professional or pre-medical examination on PCB along with practical tests, after completing higher secondary or equivalent examination are also eligible for the course.Candidates who have studied the first year of a three year degree course from a recognised university with PCB and appeared for the university examination on the same along with practical tests are also eligible to apply.Candidates who have passed B.Sc degree and have studied not less than two subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology are eligible for MBBS course.To be eligible for admission, general category candidates have to secure 50% marks in qualifying examination and 50% marks in the medical entrance examination NEET UG conducted by CBSE.Admission to MBBS Course will be through counselling based on the merit in NEET -UG examination conducted by CBSE and a viva voice test conducted by the college.

Transport facility 

A fleet of sufficient buses ferries our students and staff from all over the city to ourcollege. The facility has made it possible to start the classes in time and also ensures proper conduct of activities in prompt manner. The Transport facility is optional and not compulsory. The college is also well connected with the MTC bus routes.
