About Us

Alluri Sitaramaraju Academy of Medical Sciences was named after the famous freedom fighter Alluri Sitaramaraju. The Medical College and the attached Teaching Hospital were established in 1999 as a non profit society. The College and Hospital are located in a vast area of about 100 acres. The campus is located adjacent to National Highway no.5. It is 3 kms from Eluru Railway station and 35 kms from Gannavaram(Vijayawada) airport..

The Medical College was started with an annual intake of 100 MBBS students. Necessary permissions from Medical Council of India, Government of India and Government of Andhra Pradesh were obtained. The College is affiliated to Dr NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada. Post graduate courses in all Broad Specialties were started in 2007. All Medical and surgical super specialties were added. The MCI has permitted for increase in annual intake of MBBS students to 150 from the Academic year 2009-10. Accordingly, now 150 MBBS students are admitted every year. The MCI has now given recognition for 150 MBBS Admissions per annum.

ADMISSION PROCESS

Alluri Sitaram Raju Academy of Medical Sciences Eluru

The admission process for MBBS courses in Andhra Pradesh is conducted by the Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS), Vijayawada.

There are 12 Govt/1 AIIMS, 1 Deemed & 13 Private Medical College in Andhra Pradesh, which offer 5685 M.B.B.S Seats. Counseling will be done for both Govt. as well as Private. Whereas Deemed counseling will take place through MCC.

MBBS admission process in Andhra Pradesh:

Eligibility criteria: Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects and should have secured a minimum of 50% marks (for general category candidates) and 40% marks (for SC/ST/OBC candidates) in aggregate.
For Govt. only students having a domicile of Andhra Pradesh will be able to participate. For Private medical colleges of Andhra Pradesh, both domicile and Non-domicile students can participate.

NEET UG exam: Candidates must have appeared and qualified for the NEET UG exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Facilities
Boys Hostel

The Male students students are having separate Hostels with attached kitchens and Dining Halls. There is a separate Air conditioned Hostel to accommodate NRI students. All the Hostels are having 24 hours water supply and Electricity. The food prepared in the kitchens is wholesome and tasty. A wide range of cuisine is available.

Girls Hostel

The female students are having separate Hostels with attached kitchens and Dining Halls. There is a separate Air conditioned Hostel to accommodate NRI students. All the Hostels are having 24 hours water supply and Electricity. The food prepared in the kitchens is wholesome and tasty. A wide range of cuisine is available.

Medical/Hospital

The college has health center with first aid facility for the students.

Gym

The college has a Gymnasium facility for the students.

Library

ASRAM Medical College Library was spread in an area of 4000 square Mts in Four floors. The library has collection of 19,017 books. Sufficient number of Journals in various disciplines is available ie 75 Indian Journals and 46 Foreign Journals are accommodated in journal section of Central Library. In addition to the Central Library 600 online Journals has access to Dr.N.T.R UHS E-Journals (NTRMEDNET) Programme from which all the journals of choice can be accessed. The Central Library has sufficient copies of relevant books to the section libraries. The Library is fully Air-conditioned. The library also has Internet facilities with 58 Computers, CDs and Cassettes. It has Xerox facilities for staff and students. The library works throughout the year including Sundays and Public Holidays. On working days the library works round the clock. On Public holidays and Sundays Library works from 09.00 AM to 1.00 A.M (Midnight). The Library consists of different sections. Text book section, Reference section, Journal section Back volumes section and E-Library. Back volumes of all the journals in periodic lots are bound into single individual volumes. Library provides services to Doctors of College and Hospital, students and non-teaching staff. The Library provides separate reading facilities to Staff, Residents, PGs as well as Undergraduate girls and boys.

Sports

The campus is having a number of Play Grounds. A tennis court, Basket ball court, Cricket stadium, Foot ball court are available in the campus. Indoor games and indoor gyms are also present. A modern swimming pool is also under construction.

Banks/ATMs

The Andhra Bank is available in the campus and also Andhra Bank & Punjab National Bank ATM Counters in the premises of the campus. Besides, there are facilities for postal and courier services.

Cafeteria

A modern 24 hours cafeteria is available in the campus near the Hospital building. A wide variety of snacks and refreshments are available in the canteen.

Auditorium

The Medical College is having a very good auditorium with 1000 seating capacity.

It is informed that all eligible students applying for Post –Metric Scholarships for the Academic Year
2021-22 (i.e.) MBBS (Fresh ) Students under the category of SC, ST, BC, EBC, MINORITY & Disabled

Placements:

About 150 students got placed at our college. The salary was not offered to every student, but it was offered only for post-graduates. Overall placements are average. Almost 98% of students get an internship here.
